NUC Accredits Shehu Shagari University Of Education (SSCOE)

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has accredited and granted approval for the full establishment of the Shehu Shagari University of Education, Sokoto as the 58th state university and 206th university in Nigeria.

Presenting the certificate of recognition yesterday in Abuja to Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal, the executive secretary of the NUC, Prof. Adamu Rasheed, said it is the first university of education in northern Nigeria and 4th of its kind in the country.
