FG to Present Certificate Of Registration to ASUU Faction CONUA
The FG will today present a certificate of registration to breakaway ASUU faction CONUA.
CONUA which stands for “Congress of University Academics”
Minister of Labour and Employment Dr Chris Ngige will do the presentation.
This was contained in an invitation sent to reporters on Tuesday by the Deputy Director of Press and Public Relations, Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, Oshundun Olajide.
CONUA, a breakaway faction of ASUU with a presence in a few federal universities, is led by its National Coordinator, ‘Niyi Sunmonu, a lecturer at the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife.
Meanwhile, the Court of Appeal in Abuja will on Tuesday (today) hear the appeal of the Academic Staff Union of Universities against the ruling by the National Industrial Court.
This is as negotiations and talks have continued between the House of Representatives led by the Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila and the union.
The Gbajabiamila-led delegation would meet with the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari today.
