WAEC Commences Marking Of 2022 Scripts
The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has commenced the marking of examination scripts for the 2022 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
The board will also host coordination meetings for chief examiners and team leaders today.
According to WAEC Nigeria, the marking of examination scripts will take place at 85 venues in Nigeria.
This, the board explained, will foster the practice of releasing candidates’ results 45 days after the conduct of the last paper.
At the recently concluded WASSCE, over 1.6m candidates from 20,221 schools sat for the 2022 examination and about 30,000 teachers took the role of supervisors at the various examination centres.
“Coordination meetings for chief examiners and team leaders will be held in the morning of Wednesday, July 13, while assistant examiners‘ coordination meetings will commence in the afternoon of the same day.
“The coordination meetings would span three days – from Wednesday, July 13 – to Friday, July 15,” the board said in a statement by its Acting Head of Public Affairs, Mrs Moyosola Adeyegbe on June 29, 2022.
