The report has it that the University of Alberta, Canada, has removed Nigerian students from the list of countries required to write an English Language proficiency test as one of its admission requirements.
About 2 weeks ago, I initiated a request via email, Linkedin, and Twitter to the graduate school of the University of Alberta asking that applicants from Nigeria should be exempted from submitting English proficiency tests.

This follows the submission of one Olumuyiwa Igbalajobi, a Nigerian postdoctoral research fellow in Canada, who wrote to the university requesting an exemption of Nigerian students from the list.
