ASUU Calls Off Strike Announces Resumption Date
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) on Thursday called off its eight-month-old strike and announce resumption date in fulfilment of the appeal court order.
ASUU National President, Professor Victor Emmanuel Osodeke, made the announcement during a press briefing in Abuja.
Osodeke also warned that the union would return to strike without notice if the government fails in meeting its part of the agreement reached with the university lecturers.
The government and ASUU have been at loggerheads over the reopening of public universities in the country.
Both parties have held a series of meetings but failed to reach a conclusion for ASUU to call off the strike since February 2022.
According to ASUU, students are to resume with immediate effect.
